The ceramic crafted Naica table lamp deftly mimics a lantern

Simplicity is beauty – this dictum is aptly followed by the ‘Naica’ table lamp, created by the designer duo of Daniel and Federico Sandri Debiasi for Ligne Roset. Almost replicating those yesteryear gas based lanterns, the sober design is marked by clear lines embodying an elementary, rectangular form.Naica table lamp by Daniel and Federico Sandri Debiasi

Structurally, the Naica comprises of a deftly crafted hollow ceramic shell, with a glass-like facade on the front end. The light source is hidden behind this facade, within the ceramic shell, thus initiating a sense of antediluvian mystery. Moreover, this inconspicuous nature of the light brushing against the facade also helps in endowing a soft glow, which enhances upon the delectable nature of the whole table lamp.

Finally, it is the old fashioned wiring of the Naica that really tickles our fancy. This wiring has a knot at the top of the lamp, so as to create a holding loop for our fingers. This in turn alludes to those venerable, holding lanterns which many of us are fond of from their depiction in the vast realm of popular culture.
