Figuring out how to open a chain lock from the outside can be critical in emergency situations. You may find yourself in a situation where you need to open the chain lock to enter inside your children’s bedroom for example or you could experience an emergency situation, maybe you forgot to switch off your gas line or your neighbour needs urgent medical help and the door is secured with a chain lock. To open a chain lock from outside you just need any kind of hair band or rubber band.
The technique was described by Donald E. Westlake on one of his novels. But looks like someone have tried it for real and it seems to have worked in the video.
