The perils while travelling are rising by the day. Bob Fitzjohn a grandfather at 66, wanted to avoid having sleepless nights, when his grandchildren would be out and travelling. In order to keep then safe and get back his peace of mind he designed the EasyLock, the lock that can fit on any door.

His idea and concerns resonated with so many that he was able to raise £10,000 on a crowd funding website. The EasyLock can secure almost every other door in this world.

The lock weighs less than an iPhone, and is a great security tool when on a holiday and living in a hotel, inn or even a hut on the beach. The modus operandi is very simple, just fasten the EasyLock across the latchplate by hooking onto the outer frame. Just one click and the lock is secured in its place, with the help of the adaptable handle.

And you don’t have to unlatch it every time you hear a knock. It allows the occupant to open the door marginally in order to check the identity and even pass a few small items through.

The designing process saw many tumbling blocks before Mr Fitzjohn, an entrepreneur, zeroed in on his final design. Although he had targeted for just £10,000, but the donors overwhelmed him with an amount of £10,500. As an appreciation of the trust that the donors had shown Mr Fitzjohn, even gave out a few complimentary ones.

The locks are available online at just £24.95 and are being pepped as the essential gift for a travel enthusiast. The basic fundamental of keeping your family 100% safe was the inspiration behind this idea. The idea makes a lot of sense to parents and travellers whose children go out to see the world and sometimes choose to stay in modest hotels, roadside inns or B&B motels.

According to Mr Fitzjohn, the year he spent in designing has revealed satisfying results. He surely hopes that his invention will be able to bring peace and safety to travelers across the globe.
