Imagine a tepid day playing spoilsport to your ‘sun-lit’ barbecuing notions for the weekend? Wouldn’t you be miffed? You could have totally eschewed the outdoor plan in favor of playing video games with your buddies.

But doesn’t that require you to know the whims of the sun beforehand? Well, as it turns out, you could do exactly that with Sören Lachnit’s ingeniously designed Circular Calendar.

What may look like a simple art-work wall hanging from afar is actually a visual map that shows the sun’s position according to the days of the year.

This clearly determines the amount of sunlight you are expected to receive on a day. As we can make out from the Circular Calendar’s images, the closer the yellow circle (sun) is to the dates printed on the periphery, the greater the sunlight would be received during that period.

The Circular Calendar surely must be a welcome contrivance for many a purist, especially since most of the contemporary weather related scopes take the route of smartphone apps. As for its pricing, a single calender will set you back by 26 euros (around $35).
