Finally shooing away all your confusion about ‘suite’ and ‘sweet’, some designers have unleashed their inner Willy Wonka side to us. The result is an ostentatious bathroom set built entirely from real, edible Belgian chocolate. Crafted in an immaculate fashion by the collaborative effort of UK-based Bathrooms.com and Choccywoccydoodah, the $134,000 set comprises of the usual stuff of a tub, basin, water closet (yes, toilet!) and bidet.
In terms of sheer ‘nutritional value’ (or lack thereof), the chocolate bathroom suite boasts of 9.4 million calories. As a matter of fact, the designers have explicitly mentioned not to consume the entire set in a single setting, because that could cause some serious health problems. And in spite of the opulence factor, chocolate is still chocolate – it would melt if kept close to a radiator, or under direct sunlight for a prolonged period of time. The creators have also warned against splashing it with hot liquid – and we might have some vague ideas about what they perhaps meant by that.
Anyhow, beyond the obvious impracticality of keeping a chocolate-made bathroom set inside…well, a bathroom, the designers have showered their attention to the painstaking crafting of these components. To that end, all the objects display their authentic proportions, while the chocolate used is also fresh and hence should be ordered in expectation of 2-3 months later delivery. So, if you are all up for sating your ‘suite tooth’ (okay, that was a bad pun!), give a gander at the retail details from the product page.
Price – £80,000 (around $134,000) for entire set.
