Whenever there are heavy projects of houses being moved and shifted from one place to another, we expect the aid of cranes and other imposing machinery. Well as it turns out, the Mennonites only believe in human power! In fact, the above video pretty much proves that – as 80 people of the Anabaptist Christian group move inside the house and basically lift it off from its core foundation, and then effectively move it to a newly laid site.
The oddly reassuring thing about the endeavor is the machine-like efficient way they achieve this synchronized task without the hustle and bustle you would expect from an extended flock of 80 movers. To that end, we do raise our humble hats to the ultimate test of human spirit and strength (or rather spirits and strengths in this case).
