Previously, we have stumbled across a slew of unconventional furniture items ranging from chairs crafted from bullets to poufs made from human hair. However, this time the unconventionality is equally matched with the practicality of the interesting scope. We are talking about the Barrel Chair, which as the name suggests is remarkably crafted from beer barrels. Utilizing a full 50 liter barrel, the ingenious design capacity allows the creator (Transfodesign) to contrive two chairs out of the same barrel, thus improving upon its righteously recycled nature.
Of course, 50 liter barrels are not the only ones used for the whole chair conception. When it comes to the support part, their bases are uniquely carved from smaller 30 liter barrels. Added to that there are some other features that could potentially entice you from the perspective of usability. One of them entail the rotating attribute of the seats, much like the office chairs we come across. Furthermore, the external curvaceous facade is also finished to emanate that retro polished glow.
Dimensions: Depth (of support) -40; Overall height -78
Price (without the cushion) of individual chair – €277.00 (approx $370).
