What if you could transform an ordinary bulb into a voice controlled gizmo, and that too without any requirement of those complex hacks? Sounds ridiculous yet good, right? Well, hold on to your seat, because the above pictured Vocca Light Switch makes it possible in real-time!
Envisaged as a simple plug and play mechanism, the designers behind the project have clearly (and boldly) outlined – the device requires “NO Wi-Fi, NO SETUP, NO INSTALLATION.”
In other words, you just have to screw the Vocca Light Switch to a conventional light socket, and then fix your normal bulb to the device’s adapter. The gizmo is already embedded with a Bluetooth LE chip and a microphone – a collective setup that is tailored to connect to a dedicated smartphone app.
So, as a user, you can customize and control your command prompts from the app for aptly triggering the device. This seamless scope entirely eschews the need for a hub, WiFi connection, power cords and other installing paraphernalia.
Now, for those who are wondering, the Vocca Light Switch can also function in a regular manner for the purists out there, along with coming with conventional ‘smart’ lighting features. As for the commercial side of affairs, the gizmo is currently going through its Kickstarter campaign, with pledges starting from just $39.
