A private skull-shaped shelter in the midst of your living space – this in a nutshell describes the Sensory Deprivation Skull, a cocoon built for the seclusion of your mind. Envisaged by Dutch studio Atelier Van Lieshout, the entire design replicates the form of a skull on an intentional meta level. This, according to the designers, symbolizes your mind’s resting phase by escaping within a ‘mind’!
However, beyond cute metaphors, it is the usability of the scope that really tickles our fancy. To that end, the Sensory Deprivation Skull boasts of spacious capacity on the inside that can easily accommodate a single person – in case he/she wants a break from the daily routine of rat-races. More importantly, the internal zone comprises of a snug looking lambskin lining that would cozily contribute to the overall comfort level of the secluded user.
Apparently, the Sensory Deprivation Skull has the capacity to block out both sound and light (hence the name!) for your complete segregation from the common surrounding. But as regular users, one doesn’t really have to cling on to such austere notions – you can just as easily opt for a little lighting (like a portable lamp) for those enchanting reading sessions. And moreover, the conspicuous design has that sculptural essence that would surely go well with your Halloween-inspired decor.
